St. Lucia cont.
I have decided to lump all of the remaining days of our wonderful island adventure into one gallery…I mean really the tropical vibe just blends from day to day. So grab a mojito and sit back and enjoy!
We spent days 2-7 continually hiking (up the Gros Piton aka strenuous and not for the faint of heart), taking in the amazing local cuisine as well as finding ample downtime for the beach.
Drew and I hiked to one of my favorite lighthouses-this was a hike that I did almost every day while I lived on the island. The view is unbelievable…we took a photo with flat Winston, Cora and Monroe while we were there.
If you need me I’m just going to be laying around in this giant fishing net that doubles as a hammock #resourcefulfolks
My favorite rastas casa and land….we were the only people there for almost the entire time!
I let the fish “nibble” on my feet…and I screamed a lot…
why…just why…well because I’m a sucker for trying new things-even if it means getting bit. #tickledsooobad
Not for the faint of heart.
In my next life I want to come back as a Rasta….
This is my sweet friend that I met on the island in 2004. He now hosts an Airbnb on his land (which is magical).
Yep thats a leaf
Sandy beach in Vieux Fort…the beach I would frequent almost every day while i lived there. It was high tide and full moon-hence all of the debris and lack of beach.
That little “island” interesting story…I decided on a whim one day that I would swim out to it…I.DONT.SWIM the good news is I made it and made it back…the bad news is that I got stung by a jelly fish or three and cried the entire swim back. #younganddumb
Marigot bay location of Dr. Doolittles in the 70’s
Right before I saw a giant sea snake…and they say its ok to swim in the ocean…
Hiking the gros Piton in Soufriere…not on Drews bucket list, and evidently I felt the need to conquer it twice in my lifetime.
Right before and or after someone decided that hiking wasnt in the itinerary for the remainder of the trip. #itwashard
Nice view-mid way…..one hour in one hour to go!
After hiking two hours to the top…a storm came on and our view was severly restricted…But I had to capture it with flat Winston, Cora and Monroe.
I wore the same Garst hat that I wore in St. Lucia 15 years prior…to say it is vintage is an understatement. I believe it is my Dads from the 70’s!
I did it…I made it all the way down after slipping after a misstep and hitting my head on a boulder. Our sweet guide literally watched my every footstep on the way down…
The guides hike the trail once or even twice a day during peak tourist season!
Not too thrilled to have had to spend his morning hiking and then watching his wife fall…but he did it. #trooper #he’sakeeper
Lunch view in Soufriere, eating roti bread…give me all the carbs after hiking!
Relics at Pidgeon Island in Rodney Bay
Thanks random stranger for offering to capture us!
#thankful
The day after hitting my head hiking the piton I decided I needed redemption…so I hiked that far hill in the distance…in flip flops. #stubborn
Just sitting on a canon…no big deal.
Selfie when I made it to the top of the hill!
Even better than it looked….
